Must Download Music: Gym Class Heroes & The Higher

Gym Class Heroes - Clothes Off

Gym Class Heroes is a hip hop band from Geneva, New York. The group formed in 1997 when Travis McCoy met drummer Matt McGinley and decided to make a band.

After the addition of guitarist Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo and bassist Eric Roberts, they were signed to Decaydance Records, on which they released the gold-selling album As Cruel As School Children. Since that release, the band has garnered much success, with the single "Cupid's Chokehold" reaching #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Clothes Off!!" peaking at #5 on the UK Singles Chart.

Rather than using the conventional tools of hip hop production, Gym Class Heroes use live instruments, similar to artists such as Stetsasonic, The Roots, k-os, and Crown City Rockers.

The video starts with the band driving up to a casino with the song "Viva La White Girl" playing. After checking into their rooms, Travis McCoy makes his way down to the casino floor and runs into an Elvis impersonator, played by Pete Wentz, playing a slot machine. Travis engages in a game of strip poker with several girls, and seemingly wins, as he is the only one that remains dressed.

It all turns into a party with Elvis performing on a stage. The members from Gym Class Heroes engage in a dance-off with four costumed figures, one of which depicts the Kanye West bear.

Special cameos include the members of Panic! at the Disco, dressed as animals, Pete Wentz as Elvis, Patrick Stump is in the crowd toward the back, entrepreneur Johnny Cupcakes, and a possible reference to the Cobra Starship video for the song "Send My Love To The Dancefloor, I'll See You In Hell (Hey Mister DJ)" and "The Church of Hot Addiction".
